Needless to say I left the show blown away and was happy I was going to experience it all again the next day as I had tickets to his Friday show as well. The really cool thing about this tour is that the set list changes each night so the show on Friday was still a unique experience. Before I get into Friday night's show though I want to talk a little bit about what happened earlier that day. AND POP, a pop culture website gave me the opportunity to ask Cody Simpson a question during their interview. I am a huge fan of this website and was stoked when I was one of the winners of their 'Cody Simpson Tweet To Meet' contest. I have met Cody multiple times previously but this has to be my favourite experience yet. You can watch the interview here.
After the interview was over I made my way to the venue where I met up with some of my favourite people and got in line for the meet & greet. While in line we spotted Cody's new videographer Michael Weybret. Michael is currently in charge of producing the XVII series Cody is doing with Awesomeness TV. He is one of the most genuine people and I really enjoyed getting to know him better. He told us all about how he got into the industry and how he ended up on tour with Cody. If you ever happen to meet Michael, I highly suggest you ask him that story! He even gave my friend advice for a film she needed to make for her university application. After our conversation, we headed inside the venue and had our meet and greet photo's taken.
Then, it was time for the concert. Plug in Stereos opened and played one of my favourite songs by them, 'Oh Darling'. If you haven't heard of Plug In Stereos I highly suggest you check them out. They are amazing live and not only does Trevor have a great voice, he is also a very talented song writer. You can learn more about Trevor and Plug in Stereos here. After their set Cody started off the show with a song that has a very special place in my heart, 'So Listen'. The crowd was much louder the second night and you could tell Cody was feeling it. He even gave us a treat and preformed 'Children Of The Ocean', a bonus track off his album Surfers Paradise, that he has never played live before. Both shows were incredible and if you ever get the chance to see Cody Simpson live I encourage you to spare some cash and go!
Until next time,
Alisse
